Report To Design Engineer
Job Summary
Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to support their Design Engineer with various tasks related to product design, modifications, certification, documentation, and quality control. During this 6-month internship, the assistant will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment by assisting with creating and updating engineering drawings, managing product changes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining organized records. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate eager to apply their knowledge and develop practical skills in manufacturing engineering.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar applications).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of product certification processes and quality control principles is advantageous.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• *Strong English skills, including comprehension, grammar, and spelling*
• Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to prepare reports and documentation in a clear and concise manner.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
• Internship or prior experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001) and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Strong understanding of electronics, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and electrical components.
• Knowledge of circuit design, troubleshooting, and assembly processes.
• Familiarity with schematic diagrams and electronic testing equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and industry standards.
• Experience with electronic prototyping and manufacturing processes is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in creating, modifying, and updating engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Support product change processes, including documentation and implementation.
• Assist in product certification by compiling necessary technical documentation and liaising with certification bodies.
• Maintain and organize engineering files, technical records, and documentation.
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet specifications and industry standards.
• Work closely with production, quality assurance, and other departments to resolve technical issues.
• Assist in process improvements and product development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Perform other engineering-related tasks as assigned by the Design Engineer.
• Assist with technical enquiries from customers.
