Job Description
1. REQUIREMENTS :
• Must have worked in a Bargaining Council or similar environment
• B Degree will be an advantage but not a requirement
• Broad and specific understanding of S. A. Labour Relation Act, B.C.E. Act and Collective Bargaining Agreements
• Experience working on BCX
• Computer literate in MS Office
• Willing to travel to other regions
• Valid Driver’s License
• Matric
2. Skills and Experience Required :
• Ability to adhere to and execute instructions.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive with strong problem-solving abilities to ensure timely and accurate resolution of reconciling items/problems.
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, showing the ability to manage self and prioritise tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise to ensure a timely and accurate resolution is obtained.
• Ability to work under pressure and within a deadline-driven environment.
• MS Office skills, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Level of adaptability.
3. Duties :
• Enforce the collective agreement by ensuring primary compliance in that all new and unregistered establishments comply by registering with the Bargaining Council.
• Explain the collective agreement to new clients, employees and established engagements.
• Ensure recruitment of new establishments and employees.
• Conduct on-site inspections to ensure full compliance.
• Promote and monitor collective agreement compliance.
• Issue compliance orders to non-compliant establishments.
• Deliver and ensure compliance orders are received and signed off by the establishment.
• Must be the face of the Bargaining Council by ensuring a presentable, approachable and welcoming front to all members.
• Constant and consistent communication with member establishments and employees.
• Attend to member queries, concerns and resolve them timeously.
• Ensure prompt responses to all e-mail correspondences.
• Arrange settlement agreements with clients.
• Prepare, submit weekly and monthly reports.
• Ensure filing is kept up to date.
• Prepare document packs for client meeting.
