Job Description
The Scale Operator is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of scales used in production operations. This includes calibration and repair of scales, as well as monitoring accuracy and making adjustments to ensure weights are accurate. The Scale Operator must be familiar with the use of precision measuring tools and must adhere to all safety regulations. They must also be able to maintain records in an organized and accurate manner. The Scale Operator must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also essential.
Scale Operator Duties
Operate mechanical scales and other measuring devices to weigh and measure materials, containers and products
Test accuracy of scales, using standard weights
Record weight and other information on production or inventory tags
Maintain records of items weighed and measured
Adjust scales and related equipment, as needed
Scale Operator Skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ability to troubleshoot and repair scales
Training is available
