Job Description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. NOSA Samtrac
2. Incident Investigator
3. HIRA training
4. Registered with SACPCMP
5. Valid Driver’s license
6. Clean criminal record
7. Medically fit to work on site with no restrictions.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SAFETY OFFICER AS PER FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
• Conduct risk assessments and implementing controls to mitigate hazards.
• Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Conducting regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
• Investigating incidents and accidents, and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards (e.g. OHS Act, SANS)
• Collaborating with management and employees to promote a safety culture.
• Providing safety training and awareness programs for employees.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections and training.
• Staying up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and best practices.
• Participate in emergency response planning and drills
SPECIFIC WORK TO BE CARRIED OUT:
• Knowledge on Cognibox, HSEC online.
• Knowledges on developing safety files and keeping them up-to-date.
• Update Foskor, Tronox, RBM, SAPPI, USM, RCL, Clariant and many more safety files.
• Data entry for casual employment.
• Book medicals with supplier.
• Organize and arrange RBM 292 supervisor training and interview bookings.
• Attend RBM Site meetings.
• Book training with customers and suppliers.
• Conduct PPE Inspections and issue PPE as required.
• Motivate employees to work safe.
COMPETENCY TEST REQUIREMENTS SHOULD YOU BE ACCEPTED FOR AN INTERVIEW:
• Practical computer tests
