Junior Quality Assurance Officer

A Food production company in Centurion has a vacancy for a Junior Quality Assurance Officer.

• Inspecting Products and Processes: Conduct regular inspections of production processes, raw materials, and finished products to ensure
compliance with quality standards.
• Sampling and Testing: Collect retention samples of final products, and samples for laboratory testing for compliance with quality
standards and specifications. This may involve physical, and microbiological tests.
• Keep detailed records of inspections, tests, and any issues detected.
• Identifying quality non-conformance: Monitor products and processes to identify any deviations from quality standards. This includes
recognizing potential sources of contamination or process inefficiencies that could affect product quality.
• Corrective Action: Report deviations to the QA Manager and work with the management team on improvement.
• Supporting Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures: Help to enforce quality assurance policies and procedures within the organisation.
This can also involve contributing to the continuous improvement of these policies.
• Reporting: Continuously report to the QA Manager on the quality of production and final product.
• Collaborating with other Departments: Work closely with production, supply chain, and product development departments to ensure
quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.
• Customer Complaints: Assist in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints related to product quality, including tracing
problems back to their source and identifying solutions.
• Training and Awareness: Participate in quality assurance training sessions and remain updated on industry best practices and regulatory
changes. Also, may assist in training production staff on quality standards and procedures.
• Audits: Assist in preparing for and conducting internal audits, as well as audits conducted by external regulatory bodies or certification
agencies.

Skills required:
• Bachelor of Science degree or Diploma in Food Science or Technology
• ISO22000:2018 knowledge and experience
• FSSC knowledge and experience will be an advantage
• Candidate must have own transport and live in Centurion
