Job Description

A Safety Manager is tasked with the development and coordination of safety and health systems and strategies within an organization. They are pivotal in identifying workplace hazards and risks to employees, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, and fostering a safety-conscious culture. The following are key duties typically found in a Safety Manager's job description:

- Developing and implementing health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
- Enforcing policies to foster a culture of health and safety.
- Assessing practices, procedures, and facilities for risk and legal compliance.
- Delivering training and presentations on health and safety matters and accident prevention.
- Inspecting employees and operations to monitor policy and legal compliance.
- Examining equipment and machinery for potential safety hazards.
- Investigating accidents or incidents to determine causes and manage worker’s compensation claims.
- Proposing solutions to problems, opportunities for improvement, or new preventative measures.
- Documenting and reporting on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
