Recreation Africa Leisure Industries (PTY) Ltd. Requires the services of a Barman at our Carnivore Restaurant.
Description:
Recreation Africa Leisure Industries is a leading hotel group in South Africa. We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Barman to join our team. As a Barman you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to our guests. This flexible role requires someone who can deliver high-quality service, maintain a clean and organized bar area, and engage with guests in a positive, attentive and friendly manner.
Requirements and skill:
• Matric
• Proven experience as a Barman, Bartended, within the hospitality industry.
• Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
• Computer literacy
• Energetic and dynamic, capable of handling the demands of working in a remote, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Hands-on problem-solving approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Proactive with a strong work ethic who is focused on achieving high standards.
• Positive attitude must be adaptable, willing to take the initiative, and able to work seamlessly within a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills, written and verbal, and be committed to creating memorable guest experiences.
• The role requires someone dependable, with integrity, who can be trusted in a high-end hospitality setting.
• A well-groomed appearance and a professional behavior and composure are required at all times
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, tea and coffee and soft drinks, according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness in bar areas. Maintain a well-stocked bar area, including glassware, garnishes and bar supplies.
• Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on drink preferences.
• Check drinks presentations and temperature to make sure of its quality.
• Serve snacks to the guests when required.
• Handle cash and card transactions efficiently, using the venue`s point of sale system.
• Monitor inventory levels during events and report any low stock.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with all food and beverage regulations and the health and safety regulations, as well as responsible alcohol service policies.
• Engage with customers and stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
• Assist with the opening and closing of the bar stock take, ensure that the bar is set up and ready for service.
• Ensure fridge temperature checks are conducted at the beginning of and end of each shift.
• Ensure a minimum loss through breakage, waste, theft and incorrect orders.
• Ensure that all operating equipment within the bar is functional.
• Assist management to plan and present bar menu.
