Qualifications / Requirements:
Keen understanding of operations within the mechanical services industry
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field would be advantageous
1 to 3 years of experience in operations management, preferably within a mechanical or technical services environment
Understanding of mechanical services, maintenance, and repairs
Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Strong leadership and team management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
Eager to learn and grow in an operations management role
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environment
Proactively identify and address operational requirements
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and foster a supportive team environment
Key Performance Areas:
Operational support:
Assist in the daily management of operations across various service departments
Ensure all services provided adhere to quality and safety standards
Monitor workflow, timelines, and resource allocation to meet service deadlines
Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth communication and collaboration
Support the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical services
Assist in resource planning, including staffing, materials, and equipment
Track work progress and report to senior management
Team Management:
Assist in overseeing technicians and support staff, ensuring they are performing to company standards
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff to ensure optimal performance
Conduct training and onboarding sessions for new team members
Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members and senior management
Foster a positive work environment
Client management:
Ensure Technicians maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or service inquiries or complaints
Coordinate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction
Financial monitoring:
Ensure operational budgets are met
Assist in budgeting, cost management, and invoicing related to operational work
Monitor expenses to ensure adherence to the budget
Compliance and safety:
Ensure all operations comply with industry regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards
Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety policies
Inventory management:
Oversee the management of parts and supplies
Ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained
Manage inventory and inventory control measure
Continuous improvement:
Identify areas of improvement in processes and work with senior management to implement efficiencies
Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies that could benefit the business
