Job Description
Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Salary: R20,000 to R30,000 CTC per month (Negotiable based on experience)
Employment Type: Permanent
An established hardware store in Johannesburg is seeking a dynamic and mature Floor Manager to join their team. This role presents an excellent growth opportunity, with the potential to transition into a Store Manager position. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and management skills, overseeing day-to-day store floor operations while preparing for broader responsibilities in the company.
Minimum Requirements:
• Matric
• Valid driver’s license
• Proven experience managing a team
• Previous experience in a hardware retail environment is essential
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage operations, work under pressure, and meet performance targets
• Familiarity with stock management, in-store marketing, customer service, and staff training
• Basic knowledge of labor laws, particularly regarding leave
• Self-motivated and capable of taking ownership of store operations
Key Responsibilities:
• Daily Operations Management:
Oversee store floor activities, ensuring smooth staff operations and high-quality customer interactions.
• Team Leadership:
Manage and lead a team of employees, fostering a productive, positive work environment and motivating staff to meet performance goals.
• Sales and Stock Optimization:
Monitor store performance, manage stock levels, and drive sales while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Customer Service:
Address and resolve customer service concerns to ensure an exceptional in-store experience.
• Staff Development:
Train, mentor, and identify potential leaders within the team to support company growth.
• Collaboration with Senior Management:
Work closely with senior management to align operations with business goals, meet performance targets, and support future expansion strategies.
• Preparation for Store Management Role:
Take on broader responsibilities to prepare for transition into a Store Manager role, contributing to overall business management and growth.
