Maintenance Fitter

Maintenance fitter position available in a high paced manufacturing plant.

Duties and responsibilities
- Meet with maintenance Manager and production staff to discuss maintenance/engineering breakdowns in the plant.
- Record all work required and completed on the Preventative Maintenance platform.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the machines and or buildings does not deteriorate.
- Inspect drives, motors and belts. Check fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions following a check list.
- Assemble, install and/or repair pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
- Health and safety
- Diagnose mechanical failure and determine how to correct.
- Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment to determine machine malfunctions.
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair mechanical equipment correctly.
- Record maintenance and repair work done.
- Clean and lubricate bearings, gears and shafts.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machine.
- Monitor the speeds and feed of machines.
- Welding experience
- Hydraulic press experience will be an advantage.
- Team player willing to go the extra mile.
Requirements-
- Trade test
- N3
- Exposure in manufacturing environment
- Least 10 years work experience
- Own transport
- Good communication skills
