Job Specification: Artisan (Electrical/Mechanical/Fitter/Boilermaker)
Position Overview
We are seeking skilled and qualified Artisans with an N3 certificate and a valid trade certificate in their respective fields (Electrical, Mechanical, Fitting, or Boilermaking). The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and systems to ensure operational efficiency and reliability in an industrial or mining environment.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repairs

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment, including conveyors, pumps, motors, crushers, and other machinery.
Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, or structural systems and carry out necessary repairs.
Replace or repair defective components and ensure compliance with OEM standards.
Installation and Assembly

Install, assemble, and commission equipment and machinery in accordance with engineering specifications.
Perform alignment, calibration, and testing of systems to ensure functionality.
Fabrication and Modification (For Boilermakers and Fitters)

Fabricate and assemble metal components using welding and cutting tools.
Modify or design equipment to improve performance or meet operational needs.
Safety and Compliance

Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations during all tasks.
Conduct pre-task risk assessments and ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Participate in safety drills, inspections, and toolbox talks.
Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate maintenance records, including job cards, service logs, and inspection reports.
Report any equipment performance issues and recommend solutions to improve reliability.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background:

N3 Certificate in a relevant trade (Electrical, Mechanical, Fitting, or Boilermaking).
Valid Trade Test Certificate in the relevant field (as per South African regulations).
Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or mining environment.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Familiarity with industry-standard tools, equipment, and repair techniques.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, or electrical systems (depending on the trade).

Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and standby when required.
