Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of our company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, budgeting, stock management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Experience in stock and inventory finance management is crucial to effectively support our warehousing and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Management & Reporting
• Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support business objectives.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
• Monitor financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
• Stock & Inventory Financial Control
• Manage financial aspects of stock control, inventory valuation, and cost accounting.
• Oversee stock financing and ensure optimal stock levels to support operational needs.
• Work closely with supply chain and warehouse teams to optimize stock turnover and minimize holding costs.
• Implement and maintain inventory control systems to prevent losses, obsolescence, and shrinkage.
• Budgeting & Cost Control
• Develop and manage budgets for various departments, ensuring cost-effective operations.
• Monitor expenses, assess financial risks, and implement cost-saving measures.
• Provide financial insights to management for strategic decision-making.
• Cash Flow & Risk Management
• Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient working capital for business operations.
• Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and financial risk management.
• Implement effective debtors and creditors management strategies.
• Leadership & Compliance
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure financial audits, tax filings, and statutory compliance are completed accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with senior management to align financial strategies with business goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CIMA, CA(SA), or similar qualification preferred).
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in financial management, preferably in import, warehousing, or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of stock and inventory financial control.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Solid understanding of South African tax laws and compliance regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and communication abilities.
