The company is the second largest producer of polymer-based mill liners, which are critical components in driving efficiency and lowering cost per ton of operation. About the Role

As an Assistant Stores & Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of a company’s storage facilities and Logistics Management. You will be in charge of maintaining an efficient and organized warehouse, ensuring that inventory is properly stored and accounted for, and coordinating with other departments to meet their storage and distribution needs, while controlling and recording of goods entering and leaving the Company.

Key Responsibilities

Incoming Goods (Including bought out items)

Receive all incoming goods.
Count and check all incoming goods against delivery notes. Contact QC for receiving inspection of goods requiring inspection against a technical specification.
Submit all signed delivery notes to the Supply Chain Manager.
Store all incoming goods in the correct area safely and check that all items are clearly identified to ensure traceability until required for use
Deliver incoming goods to order originator when requested
Arrange for collection from suppliers as required.
Arrange for dispatches to customers as per plan from Sales Admin.
Production

Receive all production passed for dispatch by Quality Control. Check that items received and information on delivery notes correspond
With the help of the Stores Assistant ensure product received is stored in the correct areas e.g. completed orders in dispatch areas, part orders in holding areas, stock in stock areas
Submit all delivery notes to the Supply Chain Manager.
On request issue stock to production facilities with a delivery note. Submit signed delivery notes to the Supply chain Manager.
Dispatch and Vehicle Control

With the Sales Admin, plan drivers’ routes to ensure that orders are dispatched before or on due dates.
Check that correct number and items in accordance with delivery notes are loaded for dispatch.
Ensure drivers have correct delivery documents and that signed delivery notes are received on completion of a delivery
Submit signed delivery notes to the Supply Chain Manager.
In conjunction with Supply Chain Manager ensure all Company vehicles are checked on a daily basis and maintained in a roadworthy condition.
Check that drivers complete daily logs for each vehicle. Report any faults to the Supply Chain Manager for action. Do not allow a vehicle to leave the premises unless 100% roadworthy.
On instruction from Supply Chain Manager arrange for vehicles to be delivered to supplier for service and/or repairs
Make out an incident report for any vehicle damage and submit the report to the Supply Chain Manager.
Report any fines received by drivers immediately to the Supply Chain Manager.
General

Responsible for general housekeeping in stores
Ensure that items are stacked safely and that unsafe conditions are immediately rectified
Ensure all persons working or entering the stores adhere to Company health and safety standards
Report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents immediately to Supply chain Manager
Conduct stock take on all items in stores at the end of each month and
Supervise activities of Stores Assistant and Drivers
SHEQ Responsibilities

Comply fully with Section 14 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act: General duties of employees at work
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are familiar with the above section. A copy can be requested from the OHS Manager. Copies of the act are also available electronically on the Company’s home page. Summaries of the act are displayed throughout all departments in the Company.
You are further required to comply with all requirements of the Company’s quality management system applicable to your position and activities.
You are also responsible to ensure that your subordinates comply with the above SHEQ requirements.
Candidate Requirements

Qualifications and Training

Grade 12 with maths
Diploma in Warehouse Management/Supply Chain/Logistics.
SHEQ Training
Experience

Stores/Logistics Experience 5 years
Stores management with emphasis on traceability
Supervisor 1 year
Salary:
R 33 000,00 Monthly
