Job Description

Wilfour, a Short term insurance Broker based in Randburg is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented broker’s assistant to manage the portfolio of existing clients through proactive underwriting and administrative support.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 -5 years experience, preferably within a brokerage environment, and be proficient in handling both personal and commercial lines insurance. This role is office-based.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Maintain existing short term insurance book, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Proactive communication with clients to understand their insurance needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Provide expert advice on insurance products and services.
• General underwriting duties, including risk assessments.
• Source and compare quotes from multiple insurance providers when necessary to provide quotes for new business as well as existing clients.
• Analyze risks associated with insurance applications and make informed decisions.
• Process policy endorsements, including changes in cover, asset details, or client information.
• Maintain precise records and ensure it is compliant with underwriting guidelines.
• Independently manage the underwriting process with minimal supervision.
• Registration and follow up on claims.
• Manage policy renewals, ensuring policies are reviewed, updated, and renewed in a timely manner.
• Monitor and manage unpaid premiums, timely follow-ups and resolution.
• Prepare and present reports and documentation.
Requirements:
• Matric (Grade 12) certificate
• RE5 certification (compulsory)
• Compliance with FAIS Fit & Proper criteria i.e. minimum experience and competency requirements.
• Clear criminal and credit record
• Good knowledge of the short-term insurance industry, the legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in both personal and commercial lines underwriting, minimum 3 to 5 Years experience
• Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (read, write and speak)
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, administrative, and communication skills
• Computer literate
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Must have own reliable transport.
