Key Performance Areas:
Ensuring overall implementation and maintenance of HSE measures in the work area:
• Actively contribute to creating a safe working environment
• Ensure discipline and compliance amongst team and sub-contractors
• Issue NCR’s where required to correct and prevent non-conformances
• Report all incidents and near misses to their Line Manager and HSE Officer
• Ensure housekeeping practices are maintained
• Attend fortnightly HSE meetings
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks with team
• Complete required checklists and registers as per legal appointments

• Actively contribute to achieving Site Specific HSE Objectives and targets

Taking complete responsibility and accountability for the overall quality compliance of all areas under control:
• Extensive knowledge of the project specifications
• Complete comprehension of the company quality system as well as the associated compliance documentation i.e. Project Quality plans, Quality control plans, work instructions and associated checklists and registers
• Constantly assuring and comparing activities against the area specifications
• Completion of documentation as contemplated by Quality control plans and relevant checklists
• Raising NCRS
• Active participation with project team in terms of the effectiveness of control measures

Execute the project plan and programme:
• Execute the works in accordance with the 2 weekly schedule provided by the General Foreman
• Study the project method statement to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project and the construction process, materials to be used and sequencing of works
• Study and understand and execute the project drawings and details prior to commencing the works to gain an in-depth understanding of the project, project layout, project requirements and details
• Implement the programme, project and project details and requirements as per the sequence of the works
• Know the interim completion dates, the practical, works and final completion dates
• Setout, monitor and manage sequence of the works within his/her section of works, ensuring a logical sequence of works and minimising abortive works or re-works
• Order materials timeously, work out a delivery schedule, maintain a record of all materials in stock and ensures that stock controls are in place
• Allocate areas for delivery of materials on site and optimise storage
• Monitor the removal of materials, tools or equipment off site; ensure no materials are allowed off site without the signature of the Site Agent
• Ensure that all plant, particularly hired plant, is used effectively and returned promptly
• Supply information to resolve disputes if they arise
• Monitor progress of the works on the project to ensure the program is being achieved or exceeded

Drive the construction process on site:
• Oversee all activities within section of work pertaining to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing and curing
• Evaluate how much labour and materials are required for each stage of construction within section and communicate the requirements to the General Foreman
• Study all structural drawings and plans to ensure that concrete structures and elements are accurately placed
• Identify and recommend opportunities for profit enhancement/waste reduction using value engineering principles where possible
• Ensure that formwork and shoring are erected, supported and dismantled as per temp works design drawings
• Proactively drive progress of the works, challenging methods to maximise progress and minimize costs
• Recommend measures to improve production methods and equipment performance to increase efficiency, safety and reduce wastage

Customer/Stakeholder Management:
• Maintain professional relationships with client, consultants, subcontractor and supplier stakeholders
• Ensure team conduct in accordance with brand and company standard
• Ensure team performance contributes to positive customer experience and customer satisfaction metrics

Supervisors workforce, people development and healthy industrial relations:
• Supervise approved subcontractors, own workforce, monitor their progress and take appropriate action to address underperformance
• Reporting and ensure that the Site Supervisor is informed of progress and activities on site
• Develop and help construction staff and peers in area of expertise by sharing information, knowledge and best practices to achieve team goals
• Maintain up to date technical knowledge and participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own development
• Supervise own and sub-contractors' labour and implements the company’s disciplinary code and procedures when necessary; escalate serious issues
• Monitor and enforce working hours for own and sub-contractor labour and complete and submit accurate daily time sheets
• Contribute to team success by ensuring team commitment and cohesion; values individual contributions and shows respect for others
