Job Position: Site Clerk Construction
Ref: 4985
Location: Eastern Cape
Salary: Negotiable commensurate with qualification and experience

Key Performance Areas:
Ensure overall implementation and maintenance of HSE measures in the workplace:
• Actively contribute to creating a safe working environment
• Ensure discipline and compliance amongst team and sub-contract
• Issue NCR’s where required to correct and prevent non-conformances
• Report all incidents and near misses to their Line Manager and HSE Officer
• Ensure housekeeping practices are maintained
• Attend fortnightly HSE meetings
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks with team
• Complete required checklists and registers as per legal appointments
• Actively contribute to achieving Site Specific HSE Objectives and targets

Taking complete responsibility and accountability for the overall quality compliance of all areas under control:

• Extensive knowledge of the project specifications
• Complete comprehension of the company quality system as well as the associated compliance documentation i.e. project quality plans, quality control plans, work instructions and associated checklists and registers
• Constantly assure and compare activities against the area specifications
• Completion of documentation as contemplated by quality control plans and relevant checklists
• Active participation with project team in terms of the effectiveness of control measures

Day to day administration for input into payroll, site, vehicles, workshop and stores:
• Pull daily hours from the biometric time and attendance system
• Provide salary input information including overtime to load new employees on the time and attendance system
• Arrange access cards
• Issue safety equipment
• Monitor the duration of contracts to ensure temporary workers’ contracts are renewed as required
• Prepare warning letters as support for HR Manager to use in labour complaints
• Provide the client with employee reports staff numbers, statistics regarding employees
• Monitor expense against budget and advised management of spending against budget
• General administrative responsibilities, filing, document control etc
• Follow rules and regulations pertaining to systems requirements to ensure sustainable data availability to other business processes
Control costs through awareness of impact of work and potential waste:
• Monitor expenses against budget and advise management of spending against budget
• Allocate expenditure to specific plant and equipment to determine running costs
• Recon of fuel usage and allocation to correct cost centre and plant and vehicle number
• Identification and escalation of potential risks which may lead to increased costs
• Accurate and correct capturing and utilisation of financial information

• Awareness of own work delivery against cost parameters within the department
• Implement and ensure quality of financial outputs within agreed targets and objectives
