Millwright

Our client operates in the water treatment space and is looking for a Qualified Millwright who has water treatment facility experience. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the plant's systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation and Maintenance:
Install, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment, including pumps, motors, blowers, compressors, and other mechanical and electrical systems within the water treatment plant.

2. Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.

3. Preventive Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.

4. Safety:
Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and other personnel.

5. Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.

6. Supervision:
May supervise or assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment by contractors.

7. Blueprint Interpretation:
Analyze and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand equipment specifications and procedures.

8. Fabrication and Modification:
Fabricate and modify parts as needed to ensure proper functioning of machinery.

9. Collaboration:
Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and operators, to ensure efficient plant operations.

10. Water Treatment Knowledge:
Possess a strong understanding of water treatment processes and equipment.

11. Electrical Knowledge:
Have a good understanding of electrical systems and equipment, including low and high voltage.

12. Instrumentation:
Possess knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.

13. Problem Solving:
Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues.

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS
Own vehicle is advantageous
Must be a Qualified millwright
Must Live in Gauteng region
