Job Description
Responsible for developing a strategy for all maintenance undertaken throughout the various plants, ensuring that maintenance is undertaken according to world class best practice, ensures plant availability, prevents value destruction, and thereby supports and enhances production. Furthermore, for achieving maximum financial benefit from the plant’s capital expenditures, maintenance expenditures, production equipment and fixed assets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To manage and support maintenance services to ensure operational reliability.
• Provide regular reporting on performance to Head of Operations.
• To ensure that maintenance plans developed by maintenance engineer meets the required standard and adheres to safety and regulatory requirements.
• For developing a maintenance budget for the operations in accord to the operations production targets and ensure maximum profit
• Providing intelligible technical solutions to ensure sustainability, balancing technical solution and capital spend.
• To develop policies and sets standards for the appointment of contractors, reporting on overall progress and providing technical input as required.
• Manage technical development of employees to ensure continuity and growth.
QUALIFICATION:
• National Diploma Engineering – Mechanical or electrical – NQF level 5 (essential).
• Government Certificate of Competency qualification (essential).
• Bachelor of Engineering – mechanical or electrical – NQF level 7 (desirable).
• MBA – NQF level 9 (desirable).
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business management, planning and financial oversight (essential).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Maintenance of large capital equipment in an industrial environment – large manufacturing (essential).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Personnel management - including hiring, supervision, evaluation (desirable).
