Job Description

An excellent career opportunity for a motivated individual exists for a Quality Supervisor, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager. This position will be responsible for the control and management of the Quality Assurance Department, the Services Department as well as fully responsible for the applicable certified ISO systems and the FSC program. This is done to ensure client satisfaction, to ensure that to company complies with all quality policies and procedures in support of the corporate growth strategy and to ensure continued external certifications.

Salary:
The Cost to Company package varies, dependant on experience and qualification.

Cost-to-company package includes:
• 12.5% Provident fund contribution (forms part of package)
• 13th cheque (forms part of package)
• Medical aid (forms part of package)
• 20 leave per annum

Responsibilities:

Oversee the Services Department
• Oversee the entire services department, its processes, and related systems.
• Monitor operations and equipment.
• Effective regulation of all types of waste.
• Ensure plant efficiency in terms of quality, cost, and on-time- in-full delivery.

Quality Systems Management
• Adhere to all quality systems, policies, and procedures, for example ISO and FSC; ensure that the necessary procedures are in place and are continuously relevant and up to date.
• Ensure that the company is certified with the relevant bodies.
• Ensure on-going and full compliance to all the required systems and procedures through the internal audit program.
• Assist in solving quality related issues effectively, both internally and externally with customers.
• Ensure all reports, CAPAs, documents and customer required questionnaires are completed accurately and professionally.
• Por-actively promote the client’s brand by assisting customers with training, should they so request.

Audits
• Lead, coordinate, and conduct internal ISO and FSC audits and report on findings.
• Ensure corrective measures are in place to address findings.
• Advise line managers on best practices with regards policies and procedures.
• Act as the company representative with regards to all external audits.
• Participate in and conduct supplier audits with the teams from CW and CT.

People Management (Performance Management)
• Lead and manage subordinates successfully
• Manage optimal performance of subordiates
• Report on contract and measure of performance scorecards
• Provide feedback to employees regarding performance.
• Proactively prevent performance gaps (e.g. training, coaching, providing tools and disciplinary actions)
• Foster a positive work attitude amoung subordinates.
• Guiding, motivating and training employees with regards to customer requirements andquality asusrance activities.

Safety
• Comply with applicable legislation (labour, safety, etc.)
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure that subordinates uphold the relevant regulations to limit risks (injuries, penalties etc.)

Housekeeping
• Inspect the environment and equipment regularly.
• Conduct continuous visual observations.
• Conduct internal and external audits.
• Delegate corrective measures to uphold housekeeping standards (e.g. “Like new”)

Waste Management
• Pro-actively managing waste by implementing strategies and initiatives to reduce waste (l types).
• Lead and manage the Baler & Shredder teams.
• Sort, evaluate and approve credit for stock returned from customers.
• Ensure the baler and shredder equipment functions at optimal levels at all times.
• Organize and liaise with transporter and paper mill for the collection of waste bales, as well as the warp-off bin (if required).
• Complete the monthly collation of bale weights, verifying information and submitting to Finance for invoicing to the paper mill.

The ideal candidate should (have/be):
* Grade 12 Certificate (*requirement)
* NQF level 6 qualification in any relevant engineering, quality, or scientific field
* Formal B Tech (Quality)/H Diploma (Quality Management)
* ISO Implementation and auditing course
* 4 years’ relevant FMCG production experience
* 3 years’ relevant experience in the management of Quality Management Systems
* 2 years’ relevant experience in the field of dies, stereos, and inks
* 2 years’ proven experience in ISO and FSC audits
* Excellent oral and written comprehension
* Excellent problem-solving skills (Analytical & Creative Thinking Skill)
