Job Description

Job Position: Financial Manager
Ref: 5037
Location: PE/Gqeberha
Salary: R40 000 per month commensurate with qualification and experience + medical aid and pension fund contribution

Qualifications / Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA(SA) or equivalent preferred)
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in a financial management role
• Proficiency in Pastel, Datatim, and MS Excel, Sage Payroll, IQ Retail (advanced level)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
• Sound knowledge of statutory regulations (SARS, COIDA, etc)
• Proven experience in budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis
• Experience with team leadership and people development
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Detail-oriented with strong internal control awareness
• Willingness to adapt and improve financial systems and processes

Key Performance Areas:
Weekly:
• Update Keyfleet password and maintain access control for relevant financial tools
• Print and save supplier invoices and statements for the finance department
• Perform bi-weekly bank reconciliations across all bank accounts
• Ensure timely and accurate debtors and creditors matching
• Oversee payroll processing and compliance
• Import payments and receipts from Pastel into Datatim
• Review and reconcile claims
• Review weekly uninvoiced load reports
Monthly responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit monthly management accounts
• Import invoices and credit notes from Datatim into Pastel
• Raise sundry invoices and ensure proper allocation
• Update Cost of Sales (COS) from Datatim to Pastel for accurate management accounts
• Review supplier remittances and process bank payments
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and post month-end journals
• Review trial balance, debtors, and creditors ledgers
• Review and reconcile inter-company loans, debtors, and creditors
• Review projects' income and expenses
• Analyze and plan cash flow effectively
• Send monthly customer statements after reconciliation
• Maintain and update various month-end schedules and sheets
• Prepare Keyfleet and fuel consumption and cost reports
• Maintain Provident Fund records and submit required schedules
Quarterly/annual duties:
• Prepare the annual budget and monitor performance against it
• Calculate and submit provisional tax returns
• Manage statutory submissions including VAT, PAYE, Provisional Tax, Income Tax, and COIDA
• Assist External Auditors with independent reviews and audits
• Prepare 6-month average sales reports as required
• Review internal policies and procedures; recommend and implement updates where necessary
• Pass year-end journals and ensure financial year closure
• Review contracts and agreements (printers, insurance, etc)
Supervisory responsibilities:
• Oversee and support the Debtors Clerks and Supplier Clerks
• Monitor individual and team performance against targets and provide regular feedback
