Job Description
The company is one of the leading manufacturers of specialised ‘critical to operating’ and recurring consumable products for the global mineral beneficiation, mining, and bulk solids handling industry. The company is the second largest producer of polymer-based mill liners, which are critical components in driving efficiency and lowering cost per ton of operation. It has manufacturing facilities in India, South Africa, Australia, and Chile, and exports its products and solutions to over 70 countries.
About the Role
Daily interaction with production personnel on quality control; ISO Officer /Production Foreman on investigation of customer complaints; as required interaction with Design Office on testing of new Moulds and Products.
Responsibilities
Inspection of “first off” of each production run.
Completion of quality incident reports and recording of steps to bring process back into specification.
Ensure sample of each batch is submitted to QC Lab for testing and releasing batches on receiving clearance from QC Lab
In conjunction with QC Supervisor and QC Assistant check all products on completion of trimming and ensure all products are QC stamped before delivery to Stores for dispatch
Spot checks on operators to ensure correct procedures are followed
Recording of all inspection results and filing reports in job files
Assist with work studies and process/equipment evaluation studies requested by Manager
Operations or QC Foreman
Assess the competency of QC assistants and conduct at least one formal assessment on each assistant per annum
Conducting process audit as per SOP and ensuring compliance
Conducting Root Cause Analysis for rejects and deviations
Imposing training for SOP to operators
Candidate Requirements
Grade 12 with maths and technical drawings
Ability to read technical drawings
QC qualification or experience in a manufacturing environment
Computer literate
2 years of Quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
1 year experience in compiling and analyzing data electronically
