Our Client in Pretoria East is looking to hire a dynamic Sales professional who combines their knowledge of agriculture with skills in information and communication technology to promote and sell agricultural products and services, involving technology solutions for farming. They work with farmers to understand their needs, recommend relevant products, and potentially integrate technology into their farming practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Driving sales of agricultural products and services, building strong relationships with farmers, and providing excellent customer service.
• Needs Assessment and Solution Recommendation:
• Identifying farmers' specific needs and recommending appropriate products, including those leveraging ICT solutions for precision farming, data management, or other relevant applications.
• Providing technical advice on soil and crop nutrition, potentially including the use of technology to optimize farming practices.
ICT Integration:
• Promoting and potentially implementing ICT solutions like precision farming technologies, data management systems, or remote monitoring tools to enhance farm efficiency and productivity.
Sales Targets and Reporting:
• Achieving sales targets, maintaining accurate records of sales activities, and providing regular reports on sales performance.
• Staying up to date on market trends, competitor activities, and new technologies relevant to the agricultural sector.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Strong sales and negotiation skills: Ability to build rapport with clients, present products effectively, and close deals.
• Technical knowledge of agriculture: Understanding of farming practices, crop nutrition, and soil management.
• Familiarity with ICT solutions for agriculture: Knowledge of precision farming technologies, data management systems, or other relevant tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate with farmers and other stakeholders.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues related to ICT solutions.
• CRM and data management: Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and data analysis.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel: As agricultural sales often involve field visits and customer meetings.
