Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Finance Manager to oversee the financial planning, monitoring, and reporting of our projects from inception to completion. The role is fully remote, requiring excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple project budgets across various time zones. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budgeting
Develop, implement, and maintain project financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
Collaborate with project managers to align budgets with project scope and timelines.
Identify potential cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Project Financial Monitoring
Track project expenditures, commitments, and variances against the approved budget.
Prepare regular financial reports for stakeholders, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Conduct variance analyses to explain differences between forecasted and actual results.
Risk & Compliance Management
Monitor financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and relevant legal requirements.
Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely financial data.
Stakeholder Communication
Liaise with internal teams, clients, and partners on all project financial matters.
Present financial updates and insights to senior management and project steering committees.
Provide recommendations for improving project financial performance.
Systems & Process Improvement
Utilize financial management tools and ERP systems to streamline processes.
Develop and implement best practices for remote project financial management.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Professional certifications such as CIMA, CPA, ACCA, CFA are an advantage.
5+ years of project finance, management accounting, or related experience.
Experience managing finances for multiple projects in a remote or distributed environment.
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello, Jira).
Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) or GAAP.
Soft Skills
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for virtual collaboration.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
