Job Description
A Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of a facility. The Custodial Worker may be tasked with sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and otherwise cleaning assigned areas, as well as emptying wastebaskets, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and break rooms, and restocking supplies. Other duties may include setting up and breaking down furniture, cleaning windows, and restocking janitorial closets.
Custodial Worker Duties
Clean floors and surfaces
Empty wastebaskets
Dust and polish furniture and fixtures
Clean restrooms
Replenish restroom supplies
Clean windows and mirrors
Sweep, mop and vacuum floors
Replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
Report any necessary repairs or replacements
Follow safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals
Custodial Worker Requirements
Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment
Ability to lift and move heavy objects
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to work flexible hours
