Job Description
Minimum requirements:
A completed degree in accounting is essential, as well as at least 3 years experience in a similar role. Knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, systems and controls and financial management practices is needed. The candidate needs the skills/competencies to fulfill the job requirements.
The job:
Reporting to: Financial director
· Full financial reporting function
· Reporting in accordance with IFRS for SMEs
· Understanding of Financial systems
· Advanced Proficiency in MS Office/excel.
· Report writing skills.
· Complete responsibility for compilation and review of accurate and timely monthly and yearly Management accounts
· Ensure P&L and balance sheet allocations are correct.
· Monthly balance sheet preparation and General Ledger Reconciliations
· Debtors’ management
· Creditors management
· Payroll
· Payments
· Preparation and filing of VAT returns, paye returns, emp501 etc (SARS management)
· Annual review preparation and independent reviewer queries
· Fixed asset register
· Demonstrated ability to engage with various internal and external stakeholder engagement.
· Providing financial information needed by directors and documents for any business applications.
The candidate must have good organizational skills and be

- Proactive in leading, managing and training staff members.
- A good communicator
Please note this is not a remote working position.
Experience in pastel and VIP is essential although we are considering other accounting and payroll systems in the new financial year.
