Key Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of our Emalahleni branch. Your primary duties will include:

Collections of Accounts: Proactively manage collections to keep accounts up to date and reduce outstanding balances.
Invoicing and Fund Allocation: Generate invoices accurately and allocate funds to the appropriate accounts efficiently.
Account Matching and Query Resolution: Review accounts to ensure accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and address any issues quickly.
Customer Follow-up: Maintain professional, clear communication with customers via written correspondence and phone calls to remind and follow up on outstanding accounts.
Administrative Proficiency: Use various software tools such as Sage, Excel, and MS Word to manage records and handle day-to-day tasks seamlessly.

What You Bring to the Table:

Education: A Matric pass in Accounting and Mathematics is mandatory. This foundational knowledge is critical for handling accounts with precision.
Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience with debtors and debt collection is essential. This experience should demonstrate your comfort and expertise in managing accounts accurately.
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Proven track record of maintaining accuracy with figures. In accounting, precision is non-negotiable, and we value those who maintain impeccable records.
Technological Skills: Proficiency in Sage, MS Excel, and MS Word is essential. You’ll need to navigate these tools effortlessly to complete your tasks.
Communication Skills: Fluency in English and Afrikaans is required to communicate effectively with our diverse client base. You should be well-spoken, articulate, and confident in your written and verbal communications.
Resilience Under Pressure: The ability to work under tight deadlines and handle high-pressure situations with a positive attitude is crucial.
Local Residency: As this position is based in Emalahleni, we require candidates who reside locally or are willing to commute daily.
Availability: Regular working hours are from 8:00 to 17:00. Additionally, you’ll be expected to work on some Saturdays as needed.
Transportation: A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are required, ensuring you can commute easily and meet any on-site requirements.
