General Labourer Construction Site

Job Summary:
A General Labourer on a construction site is responsible for assisting with various manual tasks to support construction activities. This includes preparing job sites, loading and unloading materials, operating basic tools, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The role requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow instructions efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist skilled workers, such as bricklayers, carpenters, and electricians.
• Load and unload construction materials and distribute them as needed.
• Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
• Dig trenches, level ground, and prepare sites for construction work.
• Clean up debris, dispose of waste, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt.
• Set up scaffolding, ladders, and temporary structures as needed.
• Follow safety regulations and wear proper protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform other general labour tasks as directed by the supervisor or site manager.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in construction or general labour is an advantage.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for long hours.
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to work in different weather conditions and environments.
• Strong attention to safety and ability to follow site regulations.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• No formal education required, but a high school diploma or equivalent is an advantage.
• Certification in workplace safety or construction (e.g., OSHA, site safety training) is a plus.
