• Tertiary Degree
• Professional registration: ASAQS/MBA and South African Council for the Quantity Surveying profession
• Minimum of 10 years technical experience
• Minimum of 2 years Managerial experience

Key Performance Areas:
Manage the commercial profitability of projects and alignment to the financial life cycle of the business:
• Effective trade management using the applied system of measurement, interpretation of drawings, detection of variations and risk identification
• Effectively manage the project certification life cycle and final account
• Management of the quantity surveying function with regular spot checks on measurements, reconcile budget allocations, payments, profit enhancement opportunities and risk mitigation
• Manage the relevant project contractual claims, meet with relevant parties to minimise level of dispute and represent company in dispute resolution
• Ensure pro-active and accurate cost reports to report on the alignment between budgets and allowable
• Participate in the tender team activities to negotiate and agree profitable contracts or compile bids to win new business
• Re-work tender after cost award to set base cost report
Optimise contract administration and business risk:
• Understand, apply and manage common and contract law principles and all duties incorporated thereby
• Identification, management and settlement of contractual claims
• Seamless collaboration with production team to identify profitable synergies and management of the financial integrity of the projects
• Ensure accurate works measurements
• Implement and manage a document and management control system
Customer / Stakeholder Management:
• Ensure a clear understanding of the customer requirements and provide astute alternatives as an expert advisor where necessary
• Provide a best practice service and built sustainable relationships with key parties
• Leverage relationships with the professional team and wider network
• Negotiate, draws up and manage sub-contractor agreements
• Understand the duties and responsibilities of Agents and Consultants
Leadership and people management:
