Job Description

My client based near Pietermaritzburg is currently looking for a Human Resources Manager. This is a senior position and reports to the General Manager.

You will be responsible for aligning the company HR strategy, plans and resources to directly support the strategic imperatives of business and country HR strategy, manage an integrated company talent approach to meet talent and leadership needs today and in the future; lead company HR functional excellence and business partnering; collaborate to ensure a healthy employee climate, culture and relations; providing accurate HR analysts for effective decision making and manage HR risks.

Key Performance Areas
• Adhere to HR functional excellence and minimum standards, and ensure compliance to statutory, regulatory or policy requirements.
• Partner with the companies senior leadership to set direction and drive an integrated medium- and long-term HR Strategy to enable business performance.
• Coach and oversee line manager competence development of people processes.
• Identify and monitor KPIs to track performance and influence to realise improvement.
• Lead relevant and sustainable talent acquisition, talent management, engagement and retention processes.
• Partners with Talent & Development to ensure effective employee skills and career development plans are defined and implemented.
• Proactively attracts, sources & selects talent i.e. permanent & non-permanent.
• Manage reward and remuneration to ensure alignment with company principles/policies and meets site affordability.
• Lead effective localisation and diversity management strategies and plans.
• Develop a mutually beneficial industrial relations climate to achieve harmonious working environments and productivity.
• Drive HR performance against minimum standards and ensure compliance to statutory, regulatory and policy requirements (e.g., Modern slavery).
• Support line managers to resolve employee relations issues, disciplinary related matters and grievances.
• Manage and coordinate sharing of identified best practices, frameworks and minimum standards and provide additional opportunities for problem identification and knowledge sharing.
• Enable and drive effective talent management and engaged performance management (EPM) within function and across the company.
• Active management of poor performance with line manager.
• Initiates, leads and sustains company change initiatives and ensures smooth transformation and embedding.
• Develops & implements holistic wellness plans & effectively manages performance of clinic staff.
• Ensures efficient manpower /paycost and HR administration for accurate employee master data and management of information.
• Promote and adhere to company procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

Minimum specifications / requirement areas
• Degree (HR, Organisation Psychology, Business).
• 8-10 years senior management experience (with Country Exco member experience).
• Impressive, demonstrable track record and skills/experience gained within a similar position(s), at a similar level.
